Best music player, what is it Nem?!

Here's another interesting post from me!

I actually received an email(well i receive lots of em,but this one was really new, from a guy named Jake),that asked me what i think are the best music players?

So of course the subject is a good one to talk about, what is the best music player?

And at the end, which one do i use?

Let's do a top 5 list,shall we!

Music Player 1:

This one is a media player(music and video) which has been out there for a loong time!

I think it's great, has many features and simple to use.

Friends that used it said only the best, and it's FREE!

If you think it's for you,go ahead!

Music Player 2:

GOM Player

This one player is used by my dad,and it's great.

Not a lot of controls, really simple and i really like the theme, nicely black.

Not the fastest playing though, so be prepare for little lag before you actually watch your video/play your music.

It's still great though!

Music Player 3:

Pot Player!

No it's not actually related to drugs! :D

It has LOADS of controls,if you prefer full control of your music player, this is the stuffs for ya! :)

Also pretty good at playing videos and audio.

Music Player 4:

Real Player!

A very trusted media player, runs smooth and across multiple devices!

Great for use on multiple occasions, simple and effective design.

Music player 5: MY FAVORITE(I USE IT)

Winamp!

I personally use Winamp, and i think it's the best player!

Retro looking or modern looking, you can use as many skins as you want.

Easy to startup and straight forward.

Love it.

Thanks for reading, see you tomorrow guys.

Have a greatie PC day!

More command prompt useless stuff!

I know you've noticed but i owe you an apology,i was away guys and not really on my blog looking at what you were doing. :)

I still have to thank you all on the amazing readership and support(my inbox is FULL). You guys rock!

You are great!

But,Nem... WE KNOW THIS!

Yeah, yeah i know. Just wanted to say thanks.

Now onto our next topic, the one we left previously, more cmd useless stuff, yep?

Right on!

Useless CMD stuff 4:

CMDing inside CMD! Genius!

Now,what the hell is this? What am i talking about. Well type this in command promt:

cmd
Now we know that all right reserved, what a realization!

What did you get,nothing right?

Exactly, you got a command prompt INSIDE another command propmt!

Legit indeed...

Useless CMD stuff 5:

Time!

What,how is time useless?!

Well time itself is a great thing. CMD time however,is not.

Change time,what??
I honestly do not see the point in displaying time(you have it on windows taskbar!)

So this could be used in 1980s(or hell maybe even sooner)?

But more importantly?

Who the hell changes his PC time? Unless it's incorrect, the only thing this would make is,if you rely on PC,to be LATE FOR WORK!

But who knows, might be useful to tell your boss that you came on your job early and show him fake time on your PC(i didn't tell you this...).

We have one more left! Prepare...

Useless CMD stuff 6:

Exiting!

So,how is this useless?? Exiting a program is an important feature!

Yep,but not if it's in CMD.

Why?

Because of this:

Let's see what it does...

It just exists CMD!!

So,why is this a problem?

How about clicking that giant red exit button instead of typing "exit"??

Some commands are just useless it seems...

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for reading this,be sure to check out other posts, talk to you later and i'll start talking on a new topic suggested by a girl(yeah a girl, holy cow) from the States.

Until then, have a command promptie day!

Using the command prompt for Windows 7!

Nem, what the hell?! Command prompt? That's so like 1990s!

Now we have ultra quality interfaces,we don't need black and white background and text, this ain't no prison!

They took my keyboard,NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Prison certainly it is not,but command prompt(CMD) is important part of Windows.

Why?? Because it can do lots of useful and useless stuff of course!!

So let's start with USELESS of course,i love uselessness(long word...)?!

Useless stuff number 1: Star Wars!

Quickly,storm the Command Prompt HQ!

Now this one is my favorite, because it's so great,it's made in ASCII(just simple characters) and it looks good(sorta, what can you achieve with letters and numbers...wow).

So open up command prompt(Run>cmd.exe) and just type these famous lines:

telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl.

And then! Boom!

You don't say mate??
You get a lovely Star Wars Movie in full ASCII! Get it? Full HD,full ASCII...

Moving ON!

Useless stuff number 2: Title Changing!

Now,CMD usually has a title on it's window. And it's boring.

How about we change it to something else?? Shall we? >3

Try this:

title What the hell is this?! Blogspot?? I am too good for blogspot,Nem!!

Always complaining aren't ya?!

And you should get the CMD complaining how it's too good for blogspot, not a good child is it,eh??

Though i am not a specially good parent for CMD, genetics spreads it seems!

Useless stuff number 3: Color changing

So what and how complex can a command be for changing colors? :?

It's really straight-forward:

color fake

Now this won't do anything, just open up a help page for colors,we all love fakes!

Let's do 47!!
Indeed,let's try 4F!

So hot console, looking better honey!

This will give ya instant romantic color for your geeky girlfriend!

How about a command prompt for a date, wait what am i doing here,noo.....

I think that's all for useless CMD stuff here,it's 3 AM here so i need to sleep(i am human,ya know!) and rest, commands prompts are not the most exciting things on the world. :)

Until next time take care and enjoy your CMD!

This was asked by one of my readers, keep sending the e-mails and i'll sure to respond to everyone(if i can...).

Nem

Watch out for that WiFi Network!

Since i feel like writing today i'll start posting on another topic i feel is important(unless you have no computer or laptop).

It's a touchy subject so get ready!
WiFi Networks, long time no see!

The subject is that's right, Wi-Fi networks!

Now, what the hell is a problem with Wireless Networks, they're legit Nemanja, what you talking about?!

Most of it is true and that's what i would like to believe myself, would be great, however it's only half-truth.

And half-truths are not 100% correct, and i'd like to know what is that 10% that's false.

What is false is security.

Off to investigate!

How??

Well, simply said i'll give you an example my friend went through which will clarify for you a bit.

The story goes like this:

My friend went on a trip to a hotel abroad(Greece is lovely!).

Greek flag always reminds me of some other flag,hmm...

Of course they(he and his wife) rented out a hotel room and everything was fine. They would go out on a beach and hell maybe went to places i don't know about(then again, why should I...).

Now that sounds like a great story, what in the world is the problem?

The problem is...

His Facebook account got hijacked!

Yeah,it did.

Seems about right!

For the purpose of this topic and blog,i will not show the tools they used to do it,because of obvious reasons, this is not a blackhat blog but a security and education one. :)

So how can you protect your laptop or android from this?

Simply don't connect to suspicious networks!

If some unknown person offers you free WiFi at their home,it would sound suspicious,no?

Don't say i didn't warn you!

As far as hotels and restaurants go, i'd say it's a green light zone, however not completely safe.

As a 100% safety measure, you'd have to use VPNs ( Virtual Private Network),there are a few of free ones that will well cater to your needs for security and anonimity(they mostly allow 300MB per month of traffic,it's well enough for average browsing).

You can even visit blocked sites and say you live in Maroco!

That would be it for this post, stay safe and don't fall into the trap!

Take care and see you next time, keep sending the questions and i'll write on them in the next posts(this was actually asked by a reader so i had to reply, love ya).

Cheers!

Let's beat the Virus!

Second post coming right up!

I'd just like to thank everybody for the interest in this blog and knowledge i have to share..

It's great really.

Thanks
Free stamp of approval for you! :)

Now i hear ya all saying: OK NEMANJA WE'RE NOT HERE FOR  THAT,MOVE ON BRO!

So... moving on!

The topic i'll be talking about today is i think pretty interesting.

Viruses!

Oh my god we're gonna die,no Internet!!

Now,common knowledge is that you should just install AV(Anti-Virus) and hope for best it protects you whole time.

And while that's good for people only sparingly using the PC,it's not always good for us experienced users, right my friends? Damn yeah!

So,sit back, relax and let me tell you a story that happened to me and how i succeeded in beating a little(actually it was a hell of a mess!) virus on my PC that had no Anti Virus at the time(actually it did, AV failed, but not to be critical i guess..).

God damn it,how the hell did Nemanja do it! >://

Let's start,shall we? :)

Step 0: Getting Infected!

Now yeah this zeroth step is the easiest and obviously easy to do!

Hell i even used to google search a virus site just so i can get one!! So obviously, all you need to do is go to a malicious site, OR even better downlod a virus yourself. Those ones are nasty.

Come here virus let's be friends!

If you're already infected, good job, step 0 done. Hackers are happy too so far.

Step 1: Realizing what you're dealing with.

The virus i was dealing with was a fake offer from a site that i had to take. Never take any "download" surveys or programs. It mostly won't work and you'll remain without ANY luck!

But lesson learned, just make sure you don't learn it same way i did.

I will NUKE this noob hahha!

I got a fake Anti Virus, which was actually a VIRUS itself... TOUGH LUCK,BRO!

Step 2: Magic of Speed

Now that i realized i was dealing with a severe Virus(it blocked off my internet access and said all my programs were infected, obviously this was not true) i tried things but instead of a clean and fresh install i didn't see much to do.

The program started on startup,it was in boot time and no way to delete it without it starting up.

So i ACCIDENTALY opened task manager to see processes contained in it.

BINGO!

I love Task Manager, so cute!

I found a virus process in the task manager.

Explorer.exe is NOT a virus, do NOT delete it(or experiment if you will, image was just an example.)

Step 3: Being FAST!

In this last step, all you have to do is restart your PC,and as SOON as it starts up, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete(shortcut to open task manager) and look up for the malicious virus in task manager.

Over Dramatization!

Then just delete it from there.

Step 4: Being FIRST!

Now that is done,go to the Start Button and onto Run Textbox.

Type in: msconfig

Heyo MSConfig, long time no see Bro!

This will open up the startup menu for Windows.

All you have to do is go to Startup and remove the "random(fake)virusnamehere".

Uncheck process name and click Apply to end the virus! :)

That's it!! It won't restart on starting the PC up again and you've successfully disabled the virus. It's useless!

Step 5: Celebrate!

Give yourself a tap on back for reading this and using this knowledge for best of your possibilites.

I'm sure it will serve you quite well.

Congratulations!

While this is NO way a replacement for a anti-virus(because it becomes boring doing this each time you get infected),it's a hell of alot easier than just reinstalling the whole OS when you get a nastier virus.

Until next time, take care and stay computing! :)

Starting up with Windows 7!

Hello everybody,my first post around here!

In the past i've been called a "PC guy" by my friends, family and relatives.

So logically you'd think i know a lot and am pretty skilled at it.

NO!

Did i say no?! Yeah, you heard it. One big NO!

NO!
No PC knowledge!

I just started as you folks, learning and studying until i became good at it while friends were drinking beer(or was it beer... moving on!).

SOpe(what is "pe" for,i no idea),  what does this have anything to do with Windows 7,Nemanja,eh?!

Well,everything!

When i got my hands on Windows 7 i was a total newbie and solidly learned from bottom to up,to point i can say i know it pretty good.

Pro or Noob?
Professional or Noob?
So back to main point here.

In this post i'd like to quickly give you a free manual from the daddy Microsoft themselves for Windows 7!

So many people don't know about this,it's just weird getting so many questions.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=4984

Then again,who today reads??!?! Nobody...

So in my next posts i'll start my breakdown of Windows 7 as many of my friends and new viewers(you folks, yes you) will find useful.

Until next time,stay cool!

Nemanja
